The Los Angeles adult film star turned Bollywood actress will be the subject of a documentary film by renowned photojournalist Dilip Mehta. Sources told TOI that the fly-on-the wall film which will trail Sunny's journey in the Hindi film industry will be produced by Dilip's sister, filmmaker Deepa Mehta.
Though both Dilip and Deepa were not forthcoming with the details of the project as it is yet to be greenlit, Sunny's husband Daniel Weber confirmed the development.
"Sunny and I have been approached regarding a documentary about our lives and have been in talks with a Canadian production company (Hamilton Mehta Productions) and Dilip Mehta. We will have more information about the shooting schedule in the next 30 days,'' he said.
Sunny who is currently working on two projects, 'Ragini MMS 2' and 'Jackpot' will be followed around by Dilip and crew for a good 18 months for the documentary.
The documentary is expected to be a warts and all portrait of the aspiring Bollywood star who was born to Sikh parents in Ontario, Canada and was scouted by an adult magazine photographer while studying to be a paediatric nurse.
She first came to India in 2011 as a contestant of the reality show 'Bigg Boss' and made a much talked about debut in Pooja Bhatt's film 'Jism 2'.
Mahesh Bhatt who cast Sunny in his daughter's film after seeing her on TV, responded to the development saying, "If a documentary is being made on her, it is because sin is photogenic and it sells."
